Manage your Cloud

How can I access my IaaS tenant?

If you have subscribed to a sobloo offer, a tenant has been deployed for you and you have received an email to initialise your console account and API account. A tenant provides you with the following benefits:

  • unlimited and powerful cloud resources
  • fast access to nearby fresh earth observation data (4 PB online)
  • advanced managed services to let you focus on your service
  • various options to accompany you creating your business

This account is used to access your Cloud Console.

It also gives you access to your CloudStore Customer space to:

  • Manage your contract and services
  • Check your bills
  • Request support

All documentation to use the IaaS offer is available online in the Help center from the cloud console (question-mark in the upper right corner).

Resources provisioning

From the Orange Flexible Engine console, you can provision infrastructure.

Click on the "Elastic Cloud Service" link to enter the VM provisioning screen where you can chose your flavour, OS and all the parameters for your new VM. Note that you can also create many VMs at the same time. You will access you VM through its EIP (public IP) and you can select "Automaticaly assign" at this step.

At this step you should provide a "key pair" to use to connect to the virtual machine. If you do not have created one, go back to the previous screen and in the "key pair" menu in the left side create a new one. Make sure to keep this key pair (file .pem) on a secure place as it will allow accessing your VM without password.

Once you have clicked on "create now" a brief summary of what will be done is displayed. Just click "submit to start the creation process".

Access your new VM through SSH (security groups configuration)

To connect to your VM through ssh, you can use the keypair you have created previously (see above) or simply:

ssh -i [myKeyPair] cloud@[myEIP]

If you try that just after having created the VM, it will fail as the firewall (security groups) does not allow the port 22 (ssh defaukt) to be used. To configure it, do the following.

From the FE console, go to "Elastic Cloud Server" and click on your VM name. In the screen that appears, click on "security groups" and add a new "inbound" rule to grant port 22 in TCP to any machines (0.0.0.0). Of course you can put here, an entire network or a particular machine to enhance access security.

S3 bucket creation

To create a bucket, the procedure is very straigthforward. Go back to the FE console main screen and click on "Object Storage Service" then the  "Create Bucket" button.

You must chose a region for your bucket (i.e a datacenter where the data will reside) and a bucket name that must be unique through the entire bucket service. Therefore, it is adviced to use a name that includes your name or project to get something nobody else will use.

Finally you can chose 3 classes of storage class:

  • Standard for general use with a lot of input/output
  • Warm for data accessed several times per month
  • Cold for files rarely used (archiving)

Note that in more than the standard price by GB, for Warm and Cold you will be charged for additional costs: number of requests and retrieval. Please have a look to the sobloo and documentation price list for details.
