Drought in Syria

News | 02-11-21

Syria has been affected by a devastating drought in 2020 and 2021, affecting 1.3 million people according to the UN.

95% of those affected live in the northeastern region which is home to several refugee camps. The areas which cultivate cotton and cereal have diminished because the region is dependent on water supply.
